Testimonials | You will never feel alone.

test-not-aloneOur father, Hardy Teer, was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver/liver failure that his doctor diagnosed as terminal. We didn’t know what to expect or how long we had with him. We had tons of questions and wanted a lot of answers. Our father wanted to live out the remainder of his life at home, so his doctor recommended Hospice of Shreveport/Bossier. Our hospice representative met with our family within 3 days and laid out a plan of care for our father.

The services that hospice provides are invaluable. We had a nurse and certifed nurse’s assistant, that were a blessing from God. Hospice also provided a Social Worker and Chaplain that was available anytime, along with all the equipment we would need to keep our father comfortable at home. Not only did our nurse come out weekly to handle health care issues, she was available for us to call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. She provided us constant support and never left us with any doubts or questions.

As this journey progressed and specialty equipment was needed, our nurse made sure it was ordered and at our home the next day. Our CNA was a total blessing in that she provided a service that is sometimes uncomfortable even for immediate family. She was always there for the bathing, cleaning, shaving, and any other personal hygiene issues. She also helped with household chores and any other requests that our father had. Believe me, our father was not the model patient when all this started, but as time went on and the end neared he looked forward to their visits. The night our father lost his battle with this disease, our nurse had been with us for hours and she was there to comfort our family and to take care of everything we needed. It was a bond that lasted a little over 4 months.

We would highly recommend the services of Hospice of Shreveport/Bossier to any family that has a loved one that has a terminal illness. The people of hospice and their staff, provide a service that is extraordinary and will be there with you at every turn. You will never feel alone in this painful journey with Hospice of Shreveport/Bossier by your side.

Sincerely, Jeff and Emily Teer
